NHBC “Pride In The Job”

Daily Express British Housebuilder Awards

At the start of 2008, Barratt became the first housebuilder ever to win a clean sweep of the National House Building Council (NHBC) Awards, the industry’s most prestigious national awards for building the best quality new homes in Britain.

Both Supreme Awards for major housebuilders in the “Pride In The Job” campaign were won by Barratt site managers, beating off competition from more than 18,000 of their peers throughout Britain.

In the Daily Express British Housebuilder Awards, the Group scooped 11 top honours, more than any other housebuilder, and also swept the board in the 2006 Housebuilding Innovation Awards, winning four top honours including Innovator of the Year.

Barratt was also named as one of the UK’s “Top 100 Companies That Count” by the Sunday Times and Business in the Community, demonstrating our commitment to continually improve our impact on society and the environment.

Other accolades during the year included:

Three regeneration projects won coveted Housing Design Awards, which aim to celebrate housing “of great ambition and vision”.
Barratt was presented with a special Considerate Constructors award to mark its support for the scheme over the past 10 years.
Our spectacular Elektron development in London Docklands won the Innovation Award for Building Technology in the British Home Awards.
