Creating ever higher standards |

Founded in 1958 in Newcastle upon Tyne, Barratt Homes has become Britain's best known housebuilder and has built and sold more than 300,000 homes. We have an unrivalled track record of consistent growth over recent years and the Group now has a network of more than 35 housebuilding divisions strategically located throughout the UK.
Barratt Homes built some 15,500 houses last year alone. We are building on around 450 developments from Aberdeen to Plymouth, helping to meet housing demand in towns, cities and rural areas. We provide homes for all market sectors, plus homes for rent and shared ownership.
Barratt is Britain’s leading urban regenerator and today more than 80 per cent of our homes are built on recycled brownfield land – more than 12,000 a year. These schemes are bringing life back to run-down areas and creating homes where they are most needed, with benefits for local communities and the environment.
As the Government calls for more homes, more urban regeneration, more social housing, and more innovation to create zero carbon homes, we are making progress and delivering on all these fronts. In helping to meet the growing demand for new housing, our challenge is to ensure that our homes meet both the needs of today: sustainability, quality and affordability – and the needs of tomorrow: protecting and enhancing the environment.
A commitment to innovation and continuous product development, coupled with the highest standards of design, construction, quality and customer service has earned Barratt Homes every major industry award in recent years. In 2006, we were named Housebuilding Innovator of the year, as well as What House? Housebuilder of the Year.
